Obtaining Payday Loans Payday loan Why is a payday loan right for you
Warning: this post is about tomatoes. Yes, again. Green ones this time, motivated by six flats of our beloved allotment tomatoes that are currently stacked in our kitchen and may or may not ripen. Given my deep and undying affection for tomatoes, I cannot bear to waste a single one of these tomatoes that may [...]
How much do I love having an allotment? Quite a lot! I’m not much of a gardener – sure, I’ll potter around and plant some seeds and pull some weeds if forced, but really it’s the man who does 99.9% of the work. What I love is the wonderful, tasty, sometimes buggy, sometimes wormy, sometimes too [...]
In terms of seasonal crops, I can’t decide which is my favourite of the spring & summer months. Is it May with its asparagus and mangoes (ok, these are not exactly local but my favourite ones from India are in season in May)? Or June with the first of the strawberries, beets and broad beans? Perhaps [...]
We went camping, and it was great. The weather was completely mixed, but we discovered (happily) that our tent holds up admirably in conditions involving torrential rain! The kids developed a love of crabbing and we spent endless hours trying to entice them (the crabs, not the kids) with various kinds of bait. We saw [...]
What dessert, for you, is the ultimate comfort dessert? You know, the kind of dessert that’s not necessarily elegant and may not be art on a plate, but is homey and just makes you feel happy when you eat it. For me it’s either a fruit pie or fruit crumble, which if you think about [...]
Do you ever have those days where you are totally, utterly and completely uninspired as to what to make for your evening meal? It never happens to me. Yeah, right – and look, there’s a pig flying past just outside the window! I had a bad case of non-inspiration the other day. What can I say, I was [...]
First off today I want to tell you about this great “allotment meal” we had the other night. Artichokes, beets, and lamb & mint burgers to make up the protein component. Ok, we don’t raise sheep on our allotment (that’s not allowed although apparently there was once a guy who tried keeping a goat there), but the veg [...]
We all have days that are good (and bad I suppose) in certain areas. We might have good days at work, or good relationship days, or good hair days even. Well, this past Saturday was a really good day in terms of food and food related activities. The man was on a whirlwind trip to Canada [...]
It’s been almost a week since my last post and my only rather feeble excuse is that it’s been a bit of a mad week. Madder than usual that is. I can’t complain though because I got to meet some lovely new clients and cook some nice food. Life could be much worse. But it’s [...]
Sunday lunch
On Sunday we had a family allotment day. The weather was fairly mild and we took along our fantastic “notebook barbecue”( http://www.amazon.co.uk/Portable-BBQ-Grill-Notebook/dp/B001OC5PYY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=garden&qid=1265881876&sr=8-1) as a draw for the kids – barbecued sausages with a roasted marshmallow chaser. They were putty in our hands! After a few hours of fresh air and significant dirt [...]
